torque converter or tranny issues?
#1
Hey folks, looking for some opinions/advice on this interesting issue. I believe this is posted in the right spot. If not, please let me know! Anyways, the problem i am having seems to be a torque converter that is kinda slow to engage/disengage, I think. When i push on the gas to get up hills or pass, its hesitant to unlock. When I hit a sweet spot in the pedal travel, it unlocks, but can only be described as "squishy". The rpms will jump up to about 2600 or so like normal, but kind of drop slowly to around 2300 or 2400, all while accelerating at the same rate, pedal in the same position. its almost like a slip, but it doesn't free rev (so to speak) like its in neutral. Its almost like driving a manual car, and releasing the clutch very slowly. Its not a solid downshift. I changed my tps, no change. tranny fluid looks great, doesn't smell burnt. All the gears engage nice while up shifting (1-2 is a bit harsh). Also the abs light is on, any correlation with the issues I'm having? I'm thinking maybe a TCC solenoid? Any opinions?

Could be ur Solenoids have u ever had them checked out ? and is there a check enging light on ? but also kinda sounds like the tourqe converter is slipping check the trans fluid look for any metal shavings and a burnt smell will also help finding the cause of it

I never checked the solenoids out, check engine light was on, but it was because of a bad gas cap supposedly. Ill definitely check the fluid asap. Thanks for the response!
*edit*
Just checked the fluid on the dipstick, it's pretty low but still very pink and smells fine. I believe the gasket on the transmission pan is cracked and leaking. I'm not a genius, but I'm pretty sure that could be part of my problem lol.
