So about a month ago I bought a blazer, its a 96 4x4, and I noticed that the lickup doest work very well. When I pull a trailer it works prety well, in both drive and overdrive. Empty, it SOMETIMES locks up in od, but usually only for a minute or two of consecutive 60 mph miles, then you can feel it unlock. Now I dont know much, but would this be temp related? It didnt seam to matter when it was warm out, or now that its cold. It is throwing no codes, fluid is topped off, and when the coverter is in lockup, pulling a 4000 pound trailer you can give it the fuel and the rpms wont slide up, so I think the converter itself is good. IS there a selinoid I should check? Is this controlled by the PCM? Is there a temp sender somewhere on these little trannies?
By the way, I am new here, and if its powered by gas, its gotta be a chevy, but you wont ever pry my Fordpowerstroke out of my cold dead hands......

Just a note: do NOT pull a trailer with overdrive selected unless you want to shorten the life of your transmission. This advice comes from a GM tranny rebuilder (and is also in your owner's manual).
Also a quick question - and do not take this as an insult, please - but are you checking the fluid the way the manual says? In park, but after you've completely warmed up the transmission?

Yes, I know how to check fluid, and as far as the towing in OD goes, big cooler, in lockup, as long as the tranny isnt searching for a gear it might take 10k off the life of it, MAYBE, but these are throw away trucks anyhow. I pull 15k regualr in my dually in OD, and it has 195k plus on tranny. You have to be smart, not let it build heat, cool fluid is the key.
