Default Tranny slips on take off and no OD

98 chevy blazer 4x4 190k miles, was driving on the highway today cruise control set to 60 when i look down and my rpm's shot up to right before 5k. so i tap the break decline speed to find out OD went out stays in 3rd, i was 5 min from work so i drove the rest of the way no smoke no noise. i get to work check fluid which was good didn't smell burnt. but it started leaking out of the bottm in the back of the pan and didn't leak much. tried to put some fluid in it (which didn't work) figured i blew a gasket and leaked some out and may work. but now it slips when take off and after 3rd. maybe fluid and filter change? and dunno if this matters i have 24's on it not lifted but they been on there for 1.5 years so doubt that has anything to do with it but thanks for the input im open to ideas.
