Default trans issues need advice

95 blazer 4x4 lt. Doesn't want to go in gear. Trans fluid good. When put in drive, pedal down doesn't want to move, but does slowly. Pulled drives haft out, dirty fluid and metal pieces came out. Trying to pull trans out, but found out that 95 blazer trans one of kind. Any advice?

My bet is the sunshell is toast. Plan on a rebuild or reman. I'm not even close to being an expert on transmissions but when you find metal it is toast.

You say you pulled the driveshafts out and dirty fluid / metal pieces came out?
Did those pieces and bad fluid come out of the transfer case?

Nice catch, I wasn't even thinking of that.

Sounds like what happened to my truck. The clutches were burned out and slipping. Had to have it rebuilt. I definitely was at fault for doing a lot of towing with it. I now have a temperature gauge installed to monitor the transmission fluid temperature.

Good Luck,

Christine

Shouldn't a 1995 still have a 4L60E?
