Default Trans will not shift?

I just replaced the trans in my 99 Blazer with one out of a bone yard. Took it out for a test drive and it will not shift out of 1st. drop it down in 2 & 3 and it keeps in 1st Over the years I have got 4-5 transmissions from this bone yard and they have all been good, so when they told me that it was good when they pulled it I belive them. What could have went out during the time they pulled it and I put it in??? Also the trans fluid level it ok and all plugs are plugged in.

Also no codes were stored during after the drive..

Thanks,

Charles

Unhappy

I had the same problem with my transmission and it turned out to be the governor. However, my truck is a '91 with the 700r4 transmission, your truck has a different transmission, not sure which (4L60e?) which is basically the electronic version of what I have, I believe anyway. swartlkk help me with mine, he may be able to help you.

A salvage yard will normally have a 30 day exchange policy. They should have stamped the new tranny with their punch-mark and given you a reciept. The only problem is you are gonna have to do all that labor again and hope you get a good one next time.

Is the shift linkage adjusted properly? PCM reset? Does it just rev out with no indication of shifting? Any codes present when you scan the PCM?
