I have a 1996 blazer Lt 4.3ltr v-6 4wd is switchable to hi or low and back to 2wd. I need to know what type trany it has and where is the id # located at

your tranny is 4L60-E. the id is stamped onto the transmission...

thanks

It is my understanding that there is 2 types of transmissions 1 is the long type for 4x4 and the other is the short types for 2x4. so i take it mine would be the 2x4 short type?
