Transmission issues
Hello I'm new to the group I have a 1994 blazer 5.7 four wheel drive about a week ago out of nowhere pulling in to my driveway I had to give it more gas to get up the little hill and realized I had no first gear so I checked the transmission fluid and it was good hot and cold so I took it to my mechanic put it on the computer said that I had some solenoids were bad in the transmission so what I really would like to know if I should replace the Solenoids or just get new transmission

Not much of a transmission guy, but what is the cost of solenoid replacement vs replacing the trans? Solenoid is bound to be way cheaper.
Also, how many miles are on it? Was the trans having any issues prior to this?
If the solenoids can be done with the trans still in place, I would do that. Anything that requires pulling the trans out, imo might as well rebuild it while it's out, especially with a 24 year old truck

Thanks I was leaning toward changing the solenoids The transmission of been done a year before I bought it which was like two years ago and no I never had an issue whatsoever with the transmission no problems at all until that day last week check the transmission fluid no burnt smell it was good color no leakage

My bet they are the org and not changed out during the rebuild, cheap rebuild too cut costs and get it in and out the door
