I have an 02 blazer that only drives in low gear. It will not move in reverse or shift past low gear. I drove to a friends house and didn't have any problems. The problem started when I left to go home and had to drive in low gear the whole way. I'm curious what could have happened to cause the problem all of the sudden. Any ideas or suggestions?? Thanks

Does it only move when you pull the shift lever all the way down? Or does it only move in 1st gear? If only first, regardless of shifter position, are you sure that it is 1st gear and not starting in 2nd? Does it feel sluggish when you start off?

it only moves when shift lever is in 2nd gear and starts off sluggish. it also makes a loud noise like a winding up sound.

Does this info help... or is there anything else that might help determine my problem?? Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated! Thanks

It is starting in 2nd gear. Your reaction sun shell is busted and the transmission needs to be removed and gutted to replace it.
