my previous 4x4's have all had an overdrive. with a button on the lever to override it and a light on the dash to confirm this, on/off for towing etc.
my blazer doesnt have this. so my question is, what gears does my tranny have?

Your '00 S10-Blazer has the 4L60E tranny. This tranny ahs overdrive and 4 forward gears. 4th gear is overdrive. If you dont want to use od, use 3rd gear. 3rd gear is a 1:1 ratio gear. And 3rd gear is recommended if your towing, especially if your tranny is hunting for a gear.

your tranny also has a lock up torque converter.

Your column shifter will either show
R, N, 1, 2, 3, D or
R, N, 1, 2, D, OD

D in teh first example is Overdrive
OD in the second example is OverDrive.
Both are 4th gear.
