Exclamation Transmission Problems!!!

Ok so I have had my blazer for 4 years now it is a 99 and just hit 108k miles.

Last week i broke down and needed the fuel pump replaced. So I replaced the fuel pump and filter and replaced front wheel bearings as well. It was very expensive. I am a poor college student and had to ask my parents to help me pay for it and i worked out a payment plan with my parents. I was thinking my blazer would be in good shape after these repairs but not even a week later, out of no where my transmission went out. It had never given me any problems before. I was driving and it felt like I went into neutral. I pulled over and I could not get the car to shift into any gear. I would hit the gas and rev the engine just like in neutral. I don't know what to do. Is there any glimmer of hope that it is an inexpensive fix? I am trying to sell my blazer but now that there are more problems i will have a hard time getting what i owe on it. I still owe $2600 and have a car lined up to buy next week. I just need to get rid of it. But i am not sure the right way to go about this. It is in the shop now. I have not heard back from the mechanic.

My trans did that exact thing about two weeks ago...i just went and got another trans and put it in.
I got lucky someone on craigslist was parting out his wrecked blazer.
I figured out that my pump went out on the trans...i pulled the cooler lines and no fluid was being moved.
I fixed mine this way because it was cheaper by far then a rebuild. It sounds like you would need someone to do the work....i know it took me about 20 hours to do the job.

I wish you luck it sounds like your in a tough spot.

First I wish you the best. Hate to hear of people in tough situations. But it sounds like you have good parents that are willing to help & also teach responsibility.
As for you transmission trouble my thought was as above a front pump failure. The other thought was a plugged filter. Have you ever had it serviced?
After putting the money you have & now facing spending more why not just keep it? I hate buying vehicles because I have a standard I like to keep my vehicles & it always ends up spending money to get them there. Once I get them to that standard I get a lot of good use out of them. I have always had the best luck with Chevy's overall.
Many times fixing the vehicle you have ends up being the cheapest & best. Just a thought & my two cents worth.
Best wishes
