Default transmission question

97 blazer automatic Overdrive Transmission. I was driving the other day and noticed the rpms starting to go up. The fastest I was able to go on flat terrain was about 40 MPH and that was at 3000 rpm. 1st and 2nd gears work the same as always but as it shifts into the higher gears, thats when the trouble starts. I tried shifting between overdrive and "3". I feel it shifting but it drives the same. I don't feel any jerking or slipping and didn't hear any noises or anything. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Eric Miller

3 posts in as many years. Impressive.........

Check tranny fluid level?
Smell the tranny fluid, does it smell burnt?

If the fludi level is fine and it smells burnt, hate to say it, but its time for a rebuild.
