Default Transmission Question

I have a 98 blazer 4x4 that has a hard shift from 1st to 2nd. It also has the code that goes along with it. My question is will a transmission fit out of a 02 blazer? I have a family member that bought the 02 for the motor and asked if I needed anything off of it. Just wondering if the transmission would fit?. Thanks

What is the code, P1870? Just cause you have a harsh 1-2 shift doesn't necessarily mean you need replace the transmission. Does the harsh 1-2 shift happen all the time or after driving on the highway and is the trans not going into lock up when this happens?

Yes that is the code that is popping up. It shifts hard from 1st to 2nd when it gets hot. From what I read I would need to replace the valve body to remedy this problem. The only reason I ask is that he will give it to me if it would fit. I have changed the filter and all the fluid that would come out when you drop the pan and refilled it with new. It didn't smell burnt or anything.
