to start off i have a (what i think to be a) 71chevy blazer withth-350 4wd tranny the main purpose for the vehicle is plowing snow so the vehicle mainly spent it's life in first gear and reverse.
so first and reverse are burnt up and the rear seal leaks.

how hard is it to rebuild a transmission and what parts would i need?

cause Ireally don't have the cash to buy a $1200 heavy duitytranny right now

on a scale of 1-10 how hard is it to rebuild a transmission? (i have rebuilt several lawn mower enginesand helped rebuilda small block350 last week so i do have some mechanical skill)

 

It's been a lot of years since I've rebuilt a TH350. It's hard to say what you need before you pull it apart.
If it was my truck, I think I'd check the auto wreckers or Craigslist for a used tranny.

 

ive checked all of thye local wrecking yards and craigs list and the local classifides but none of them have a (4x4) th350
