Hey, so, I recently bought a 1998 Chevy Blazer with a replaced engine (200,000km) and a replaced tranny (150,000km), Driving today between Whitehorse, YT and Dawson City, YT my transmission suddenly began to slip, revving super-high in 5th gear. I stopped, turned it off and then started up again- slipped into 5th fine and drove another 50 km to Pelly Crossing (no cell service in between) where it promptly slipped into second and stayed there.
Topped up transmission fluids - it was super hot but not burnt, and not over low - but now it seems to be stuck in limp mode.Code scanner says its a slippage issue in the transmission (duh, code scanner). I had a similar issue in a 1995 GMC 2500 where I had to override by manually resetting/disconnecting tranny - is a similar fix possible in the Blazers? I'm stuck in LEGIT the middle of no where. I just can't understand what is happening here - I had utterly no warning symptoms and it was just in the shop two days ago.
