I`m looking to buy a `87 S-10 pick-up, which I believe has a 4.3L in it. It needs a new steering column cause the linkage is messed up for the AT transmission. The truck has been converted from STD and still has the clutch and floor cut-outs for a STD. I prefer a stick shift, and was wondering what would be the best transmission application for a mild street setup? The truck is 2-wheel drive.
