Default Two issues

2001 Blazer 150k miles. The car sat for about 3 years. Rebuilt the trans and got it running good. Replaced brakes and a few other items.

So I am ready to try and get it inspected and it's throwing a P0440 code. This even after replacing with an OEM gas cap.

I've got over 200 miles on it since I hooked the batteries back up and it still has two monitors not ready AIR and CAT.

I am running out of ideas and very much like this truck and would like to start driving it legally.

I know it will not pass emissions with these two issues.

Thanks

.

Man when this all over I am going to have to buy you dinner or something.

I did read a ton of info on this code but I missed that one.

I don't have a code reader powerful enough to read the live data I need, like the gas tank pressure sensor. I guess I'll start with the basics and make sure the solenoids and valves are working.

I'll post what I'm doing in case I find the problem.

Thanks for your help.

Well I'm up to 360 miles and the two monitors still have not set yet. They are CAT and AIR. Anyone think these two are related? I also still have the P0440.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Default Update

Well I couldn't figure this one out and didn't want to start throwing parts at it so I had a local repair shop diagnose it. It turned out to be the vapor canister vent solenoid. I replaced it and the SES light went out and the other two monitors set.

A trip back to the repair shop and I got my inspection and emissions sticker.

Now I am legal and will be driving this daily, as well as doing updates and repairs along the way.

Let the fun begin...
