My tranny went out on the the way home I had the motor red lined and it stated to knock...(186000 Miles I am not complaining) But i was wondering have hard it was to put a V8 in it...it is a 1995 s-10 and that has the Vortec.. so i was wondering what motor i would need to put in? is there a way to put a Vortec V8 in it or do i have to go carb.?
Thanks

There is a way to do anything. It just depends on how much time and money you are willing to put into it(mostly time). I'm sure if you find something around the same time-frame you could probably tie the cabin electronics into the new V8 ECM. All you're going to have are gauge signals and a few other inputs for AC, etc. It's all going to depend on what years you are swapping between.
I'm about ready to start putting a '98 supercharged V6 in an '88 Fiero. Just have to adapt between the two harnesses for the new ECM and it's pretty much a go.
