Default VERY rough idle, shakes violently and dies unless accelerator is pressed... help!

At first I thought it may be the starter, as it wouldn't even click for a while, then replaced the air and oil filters, and oil sensor switch. I'm thinking it may be the fuel pump, but I want to be sure before I go putting in MORE parts that I don't actually need...

EDIT: Am now thinking possible misfire, have double checked firing order and spark plugs. Maybe bad distributor and/or cap??

I just ordered an obd2 scan tool from Amazon for about $13. I'm guessing you'll have better luck if you can provide some diagnostic details.

Well, it's a 1992 so it's OBD1, and the light only comes on when it's already died; which it's supposed to do. Or else I would have done that already.....
