WARNING!! 1997 S10 Blazer
Just caught this post. But for what it is worth the exact same thing happened to my wife in her 96. Had her park it I went to get it after my work and to my surprise would not slow down. Made it to my driveway. It was so stuck that me forcing the break caused it to spin the back wheels like I was power breaking. The problem was the same. After a bunch of research it turns out that the thing that came undone was a throttle plate restrictor. Supposed to help control the air flow. That thing is a danger. I thought we were the only ones that had the joy of this failure. I left ours of and all seems to work well without it.
