Default Weep Hole

Hi All,
I just replaced my water pump on my 95 Blazer. As I was tightening up the bolts I noticed that the weep hole on the new pump was on the upper surface of the pump and not under the pump as it was on the old unit. Is this, or will this lead to a problem?
Thanks for the advice.

Matt

Shouldnt matter, once the system is pressurized and the engine is running it would weep in the same way once the pump is worn out.

Ive seen aftermarket pumps with NO weep holes.

I prefer the weep hole on top, easier to see if the pump is the problem or not.
