What did I do now? Ugh...
After a few hours worth of swearing and getting trans fluid in my eye, I got the filter replaced and the pan back on. Now my problem...I raised the transmission a little after taking off the nuts on the cross member. Now I can't get the bolts to line up with the holes again.
Any suggestions? This is the last step before finally being able to drive it again after two weeks worth of other problems.
Thanks in advance,
Steve

you have to just get one bolt started and then tighten it, it should pull the piece to the frame and align itself, the more you can get started the better, so if you can start 4 and then tighten them in a circular pattern that would be better that way you dont have to worry about them not aligning when you get one tightened... IDK if you will be able to do this or not but thats what I always do.
Also if the truck is jacked up try lowering it or adjusting the jack stands or moving them this could cause enough movement in the truck to get the holes aligned...

I used a jack to applied pressure on the cross member and then I pushed on the tranny till the bolts went in the cross member holes. If you got a person to help should be easy. Doing it myself took me 30min just to get the cross member bolted to the tranny.
I ended up getting it. After walking away from it for a day, I thought...dead blow. One nice tap and both the bolts fell into place. That turned out to be the easy part... I'll start a new thread tomorrow with pics.
(And new tires!)
