What to do with this 4l60e
So my trannys been leaking since the day i bought the truck which was 2 years ago. It's a 1994 s-10 blazer 4x4 4.3l v-6(w). But me being me and seeing the tranny would always stay about 3/4 full i just left it alone. Recently however it started slipping. I was going to attempt to rebuild the tranny at my auto tech school but they re****ed saying i couldnt do it there because too many people would mess with the parts. A rebuild kit is only $150 but getting someone else to do it is $2000 around here. A used tranny ranges from $350-500 with transfer case(cause its leaking too
) So how hard would it be if I rebuilt the tranny on my own? It doesn't look that intimidating to me, but I've had bad history of saying something looked easy and then it turn out not to be...

If you are considering this, get yourself the ATSG manual for the 4L60E. Also look into getting a video to help as well. Sometimes you can find these things in Libraries.
When you get into it, make sure that you have A LOT of nice, clean area to lay the parts out on.
