what kinda transmission fluid should I put in an AWD transmision?

Same transmissiong fluid as every other 4L60-E

Dexron III compatible fluid... Brand name is up to you, if you want you can go for the bargain $1 a quart type stuff... But I reccomend getting at least a known brand, like Quakerstate, Penzoil, Mobil 1, Royal Purple (though, those last two are gonna be pricey...)

Agreed, the AWD portion is in the transefer case, and that requires a special lubricant.
A regular t-case (transfer case) uses Dextron III tranny fluid just like your auto tranny uses. Tranny fluid is one of those items worth spending the extra money on. Buy the good stuff.
