What yrs Tranny will work
I have a 1997 4.3L automatic trans that the trans lost 3rd and hi.What I need to know what yrs and which trannys will work in this.I found one out of a 1994.

An easy rule of thumb is to never go older. But you really have to check to see if you have a single piece case or the two piece case with the removable, full circle bell housing.

Hey ftwflh, I've got a 97' with the exact same problem. We should start a support group.
I too was wondering what other years / vehicles use the same tranny. I've been told that most chevs that year use the same transmission. Does anybody have a compatibility list? I was also thinking of attempting the rebuild. Any advice is appreciated
