Default why 98 model is taking longer to crank?

my 98 used to start right up until recently,, it was,, cha cha vroom.... now its cha cha cha cha cha cha vroom...then its sluggish for 2-3 seconds, then runs fine. Ive tried different gas with stp additives to try to get rid of any water. its been a few years since i got plugs, but i know the air filter and pvc valve is good. It dont cut out while driving or anything. Any idea where to start? I took off the sensor at the airfilter but it was the same. Thanks guys.

Filter and pump might be going... sounds like build up in the filter at least...

turns out if was a leaky fuel injector and fuel was going into crank case i think they said. cost 1000 to fix (included tune up and oil change and new spark plugs/wires). it fires up very fast now.

If you have basic tools, and even slightly mechanically inclined, next time you can replace the fuel injectors and do the tune up your self, and spend drastically less than a grand. There's some really good write ups on here, and everyone is more than willing to walk you through it.

Having said all that, I'm glad your truck is fixed, and it's running well!
