I bought a full size 94 blazer last week with a messed up trans. yesterday i found a trans in an 88 4x4 extended cab pickup; will the 88 trans work in my blazer?

No. The 94 will have a 4L60E while the 88 has the 700R4. One is computer controlled, the other is all mechanical.

technically you can MAKE it work. it will bolt up and be the same length, if your other trans is a 4x4 too. but like the other poster said i dont know how itll work with the computer system. you will have to buy a aftermarket lock up kit for the torque converter and the check engine light might come on. but if it doesnt effect the way the engine runs and you have no emissions you can probably use it.

Yes, technically it will bolt up, but it is not a direct replacement. Other work is required. Depends on your definition of "will it work in".
