wont come out of 4lo ???
i have an issue with my 4x4, i went to fill up my truck and on the way there it was in 2HI but the 4LO light was flashing??? when i put the truck in park i heard the transfer case shift into 4LO and the service 4wd light came on
now i cannot get the truck to shift into anything else it just remains in 4lo and i had to limp it back home.
i disconnected the battery hoping it would clear the light long enough i could pop it into 2hi again but after doing this both the 2HI and 4LO lights are lit up on the dash and its still in 4LO
i did not see any other people with this same issue on the forum
any suggestions????
is there a way to check the codes without a reader, like the old paper clip trick?

well even though i have yet to encounter such problems with my blazer we did have a 99 silverado that did this. all we had to do is put it in neutral and sort of rev the engine some. we did this quite a while ago when i was 12 and i am now 19 so i dont remember exactly but he kept going between pressing it in to 4hi and 2wd and 4lo and it fixed it. definatly check the gearlubes and see if its an electical problem. this is why i wish i had manual lockouts. less problems. but i hope all can work out well.

Search around a bit. There are many posts on diagnosing the 4wd system and quite a few that specifically deal with a transfer case that is stuck in 4LO.
