Lost 3rd gear while driving. We rebuilt the transmission, our first time doing this. After we put it back into the Blazer, I have no drive. Worked fine before we touched it.
Right now reverse, 1rst and 2nd work. No trouble codes. When I'm in drive and I rev it up to about 3-4k, the speedo will wiggle, but the tires will not move.
One website says the forward spragg could be broken, but it was perfect when I had it out. If I put it in backwards, then I wouldn't have any manual gears, correct?
Was just reading about the 1-2 accumulator piston. Could that cause it? It looked fine, however it is the original plastic one.
Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the forum, Input sprag is installed upside down. In manual 1st and 2nd, the overrun clutches are being applied to act as forward clutches. If you hold assembly with larger hub down an spin the small hub that is facing you it should freewheel clockwise and lock counterclockwise. Good luck

Thank you for your reply. Having it upside down, would that have damaged any components? I've had it up on Jack stands. Although I did drop it and move it a couple inches back and forth.
Yup. Input spragg was backwards. Just got it put back together. Bad thing is I lost two pan bolts and gained two other bolts. Cannot remember where they go. 10mm heads.
Those 2 bolts hold the bracket for the shifter cable that bolts to the pan rail. That bracket doesn’t use regular pan bolts. You need the longer length bolts on that bracket for the force that is applied to it from cable.
Good job on finding the issue and getting it repaired! Very easy problem to self inflict, bet it won’t happen on the next one.

So I got it all put back together. I have drive, but no reverse, 2nd gear, I think 3rd gear wiggled. Neutral moves the tires forward. I'm thinking maybe where the shift cable attaches to the prnd1 switch. But if it was out of sync, park would be off too, right?
Try starting it in neutral also, that’s a quick indication if switch or cable is out of adjustment. By chance did you remove the valve body on the second time in? Common no reverse after overhaul is not getting the 3 8mm head bolts on the rear of the separator plate tight.
