Default Wont turn over after accident

Had a little accident last night in the blazer and I went to pull it out of the ditch today and now it won't crank over ... Just makes a clunk noise, all the damage is on the passenger side front fender and a little buckle in the hood .. Is there some kind of switch that keeps you from restarting after a accident ? It's a 2001 zr2 auto

Do the starters on Blazers have a solenoid? If so perhaps what you are hearing is the solenoid throwing the gear shaft back but the motor part of the starter is somehow not working? It is on the passenger side where the damage is.

from what i have heard, there is supposedly an inertia switch on blazers. I dont know if its true because i have never seen mine. It shuts the fuel pump if there was ever damage to the car. Im not sure where it gets the signal to turn it off so it may or may not be this switch. In theory all you would have to do is flick the switch to turn it back on.

It is possible that your starter was damaged as what Christine_208 said and now only pushes the gear shaft out against the flywheel but will not rotate the gear to start the engine. Would explain the clunk noise and the no-start. I would take a look at the starter for damage
