1975 350 wont start

The 'lid' us the choke. Looks like you've got an electronic model that will take care of the opening and closing. The choke is only on the primaries. There are also butterfly valves on the bottom which are what matter once the engine is warm.

Yep, that "lid" is the choke. Not sure with Edelbrocks, but on my Holley there is a black plastic cylinder that has the choke spring in it and controls the opening and closing. I never did like electric chokes, they would always seem to stay on too long, and come on too soon after shutdown. But adjusting it more open would affect cold starting. The best automatic one I've had was the factory "divorced" choke that was on my 2bbl Rochester.
