1978 blazer traction issue
Ok i have a 1978 blazer stock transfer case swapped the tranny for a heavy duty th350 replaced breaks put on new wrangler mt-r's(33's) and no matter what i do if there is 3 inches of slush, snow, ice etc etc i slide for 3+ feet whether going at crawling speed. If on a hill i have no traction even in second gear? is it the weight of these vehicles that make em slip and slide everywhere?.Also i do not have lockers but will be getting some in the future since this is my rock crawling project.if you guys could think you anything for the reason that i am sliding would be awesome!!
How wide are your tires? The wider the tires are, the less contact pressure they have. You could have a 10ton truck with flotation tires (really wide) that would result in a contact pressure less than a Lotus Elise.
What transfer case do you have? NP203 (Lo-Lock / Lo / N / Hi / Hi-Lock) or NP205 (4HI / 2HI / N / 4LO)?
If you have lock out hubs, are you locking them in? Have you verified that they are locked in?
