My 87 K5 was running fine when I parked it but now when I turn the key nothing happens at all. The battery is charged and I have checked all my fuses what am I missing?

 

did you put it in P? =)
nothing happens at all?
do the lights come on in the dash or do you hear a clicking noise when you turn the key?
does headlights work?
do you have power to the stereo or any aux when you turn the key 1 click?

Yes it's in P and the headlights and stereo work without the key. When I turn the key nothing happens. No clicking, no vent fan or power windows.

 

Sounds like something might be wrong with your ignition switch. it sits on the steering pole under the dash.. remove the plates below the steeringwheel and inspect it..

once the key is turned a rod goes from the ignition lock pushing a rod in the switch... the rod might have broken off or fell out of place aswell... il start checking the contact going into the switch.
