1990 K5 Battery Dying
 
About an hour and a half ago, I took the Blazer for it's daily ride, not too far a 5-10 minute ride almost every day is what I've been doing. Anyway, I happened to look at the dash and the battery voltage gauge was pointing to 8 and the battery indicator light was also on. My driveway is a HUGE hill and the truck ALWAYS makes it up with barely any gas today I needed to floor it just to get up because the battery is dying (dead) My question is, if I use jumper cables to charge it from either one of my parent's cars 2004 Toyota Camry, 2009 Toyota RAV4, will the battery charge back, or do I have a better chance just running the truck for 10-15 minutes?

You do not want to charge a battery using jumper cables. It is way to fast of a charge. You need a charger.

You have to determine if your alternator is actually charging first.

Use a voltmeter. Charging voltage should be around 14.4vdc -- but don't quote me on that exact figure. Anywhere between 13.5vdc and 14.5vdc should be charging

As of yesterday, the problem is now gone. I took a huge risk (because it's not registered and has no sticker) and went for a longer ride in the Blazer. On the way back to my house, I noticed that the battery indicator light had turned off and the voltage had increased. So i stopped on the side of the road and gave it a couple of not too high RPM revs and the voltage meter spiked up to 14 as opposed to 8. So the alternator does charge the battery.
