Default '82 k5----all over the road

My '82 K5 is all over the road. I know it's short wheelbase, but it feels borderline dangerous, especially over bumpy roads. I'm running the dual front shock setup with a steering stabilizer, and all the shocks are firm.

Does anyone know of anything obvious that I may be missing?

How good are the joints in the steering? Have you checked them all for play?

Tighter than a frogs ***.

It feels like the entire vehicle rocks back and forth like an anchored boat rocking from side to side, almost like lack of firmness in the suspension.

What are you running for tires and tire pressure? Maybe you are feeling sidewall flex..?

If the steering is as tight as you say and the tires aren't the issue, then there has to be something... Have you tried to have someone rock the truck side to side while you watch the suspension components?

Mine is quite stable going down the road. No wandering or anything and I have a 3" BL, 33x12.5-15's, standard shocks that are quite old and rusty with only a single stabilizer in the steering. My steering is very light, but it doesn't move around unless I turn the wheel.

My steering, too, is ridiculously light. U turns with my little finger, I love it.
Just hard to drive at speed. No play in the wheel....goes straight down the road. Maybe I'm just not used to it.
