Default 85 k5 fuel question

So I just recently bought this blazer and have some power/fuel problems. I have a holly intake with an edlebrock carb. I was having fuel issues with when I tap the gas it would die. I turn off the 4 barrel and running on just 2 and truck running ok just lack of power. I was told that holly and edelbrock have different styles and can't work well together any opinions?

How did you "turn off" the 4-barrel?

i dont think that combining the two should be a problem, im running a holly carb and edelbrock intake and my truck runs fine. i know on some of the slightly newer trucks the egr's would act up if you just barely gave it gas causing a massive vacuum leak and cause it to die.

but theres so many variables here, could be too big of a cfm carb for that truck or another issue all together

If the carb is not functioning properly it would be time to get a new one. Is any of the linkage missing or broken?
