Default 88 blazer 5.7 running hot

im going nuts , just replaced everything , ignition system, rotor, cap, wires, plugs, coil pick up,ign module, distributer, timing set at 0 w/advance unpluged, radiator, hoses, thermostat, fluids, both temp sensors, pcv ,tps, rebuilt tbi, the truck runs good , idle is a bit high, my temp gage is telling my she is very hot almost at 260, keep the heat on and it cools down just a bit maybe 240 , also the idle air was replaced, would a map sensor or o2 sensor make her run hot ? lookin for some advise / thanks jim

I dont know if its running lean , the old plugs were black and full of gunk , i got the truck back in july , been throwing part on it every day , fuel pump assembly and filter , egr valve , only thing i havent done is the map and o2 sensors , just changed out the radiator and t stat with new sensors , they did get a bit wet from antifreeze , think i killed them ? temp gage says 260 without the heater on , cools down with it on about 240 , is my gage wrong ? doest act like its over heating but i havent realy drivin to far , dont wanna break down , everthing is new except those sensors , will the tell the ecm to lean it out ?m

A lean condition can cause the engine to run hotter than normal. Black plugs indicate a rich condition. If your current plugs look black as well, I would recommend you change the map & O2 sensor as maintenance.

Have you actually verified the temperature? Could be the gauge is reading high.

i have a tempeture reading gage that i use on my nitro rc trucks, took the temp at the goose neck it read about 185, my hoses around 155, the t stat is a 195 , and there is plenty of heat , thinking my temp gage is wrong , not hearing any valves pinging , sometimes it bogs down a little bit , ill replace the map and o2 sensors see what it does , thanks for all the help ,
