I have been trying to cross reference an oil filter that would be shorter that the typical, roughly 5 inch height that all of the filters seem to be for a 1993 Full Size Blazer 4X4 5.7 Liter. Every filter I cross reference is around the same height. I am going to uninstall my cooler lines and oil filter adapter housing so that the oil filter will screw directly into the block. I just want to make sure my oil filter clears the shaft.

Does anybody know a shorter oil filter that I can substitute?

 

I think a WIX 51040 will fit, and it's a bit shorter than the 51036. Double-check the specs, though.
