Default Finally got my Blazer back!

Well after a yearlong wait, I finally decided to just fork over the cash and get my truck shipped up to me. Sitting in the Gulf Coast for the last year was not kind to the sheet metal at all. But it just means that I have an excuse to get a welder and do learn how to do some body work.

I got my truck last night, LATE last night. And just for kicks I charged up the battery and same problem no radio and nothing when I turn the key. First I'll replace the ignition switch, a cheap fix anyway, and hopefully that does the trick. Thanks to everyone for the input!

Now let’s see how this goes!

Default Ignition Switch Actuator rod???

Well I got the old switch out, and I have to new one in. But what I can't figured out is where to place the actuator rod?

Its at a 90 degree any of the slots on the switch, and I've tried bending it to fit it in those slots, but it just pops out. In fact, I don't even think that the rod was connected to the old switch.

I'm sure that theres some little trick or step that I'm missing. I looked through my repair manual and found nothing.

Thanks in advance everyone!

That was the ticket! After getting the new ignition switch and sanding all my battery cable ends, and dropping in a new battery, she turns over! And all the lights and radio work again. Looks like I'm halfway there...

But after sitting for so long she's not starting yet. I took off the air cleaning and put a cap fill of gas down there. She almost turned over, but I don't want to keep doing that. Time to surf the posts and see what I can come up with.

Thanks for your help everyone!

I'm over by forest park. You know, I think I've seen that beast on the road. And sure, that would be great.
