Default Auto to manual swap. What is the factory manual transmission called?

I want to swap my automatic transmission for a manual transmission. I want to install the factory manual transmission. Big Red currently has a 700r4 automatic and a New Process 208 transfer case. What is the factory manual transmission?

It depends, what are you working with for an engine?

You can use an SM465 4-speed. I'm not sure the K5 was ever offered with a 5-speed.

The hardest part of the swap is the pedal assembly. The rest is pretty straightforward. Let me know if you need parts. I think I have most of them (except for the transmission itself).

Yeah - SM465 is the 'stock' on the K5. Only thing I'd caution on though is the clutch assembly. Mine (87 K5, 305/SM465) has the hydraulic setup on it. It took me MONTHS to find a SM465 hydraulic bellhousing that wasn't boogy-dollars and unbroken. Ended up getting a whole setup to replace my broken bellhousing. I've heard you can do a cable setup - but I'm not really familiar with it.

My K5 has the old-school mechanical linkage, which always worked just fine. When I put the SM465 in my S10, I ended up using an aftermarket hydraulic throwout bearing with the non-hydraulic bellhousing. That would also be an option for swapping a manual transmission into a K5, as long as it's not too important to be "original".

A pedal assembly does look hard to come by. You say you have one for sale?

I do have one. I haven't pulled it out yet and I don't even know what to ask for it, but I'll give you a good deal.
