Brake Proportioning Valve
My brake proportioning valve failed on my 1994 full size Blazer. Since GM stop making it four years ago and no one seems to carry it; anyone know of a place that might have it? In the meantime, my mechanic is having it machined.

Are you sure that it is any different than the regular K1500 proportioning valve available under AC Delco PN 172-2041? That isn't cheap, but seeing as how the rest of the truck is just a shortened/enclosed pickup...

The one in the Blazer is different then the one in the pick-ups. If you check the AC Delco parts section for the part number you mentioned, it will bring up pick-up trucks only. No mentioned for Blazer.

But how can you be sure that they are different? The 1/2 ton pickups are practically identical, mechanically speaking... There may be a reason why they discontinued it, that reason being that it is just as easy to replace it with a part from the pickups.
Or you could go with an aftermarket adjustable unit like the Wilwood 260-11179.
*EDIT* I did a little more digging through some parts websites and found that there is a 'pressure metering valve' is available for your truck. This was from GMPartsShop.com and GMPartsDirect.com under 'Brakes'/'Hydraulic System'.

Goes right during braking.
Thanks for the info my truck was pulling to the right and I've checked for stuck pistons and bad lines. The only thing left to change is the proportion valve (pressure metering valve). If this fixes the problem I'll let you know.

Well my 2 cents worth is I don't think it's your valve . The valve controls how fluid is ditributed to front and back brakes . I think you have a caliper out of wack or loose wheel bearings . Calipers don't need to be stuck . Spin your wheels and see if they spin different

How did you check your brake lines? 90% of the time it is the rubber inside the rubber lines tha won't let the flood flow correctly. Change the rubber brake line that connects to the caliper.

My brake proportioning valve also failed on my 1994 full size Blazer. My mechanic sent it to a machine shop to have it refurbished. Cost of this was $100.00.
