harsh shift from 1st to 2nd no loss of power no engine light just HARSH
i bought this 94 blazer full size with 350 4x4. This is my second 4x4 truck and i am fairly new to them but am a practicing mechanic that just needs to be pointed in the right direction. It has a 4 inch lift i assume and everything works its got about 154k dude says trans got rebuilt and has a shift kit. its got 33s on it also. so the only problem is its very harsh into second gear ONLY all other gears shift perfectly fine there is no loss of power or gas mileage. some local tire mechanic told me the noise im hearing is my t-case mounts and i think he is full of **** but who knows. ive seen previous threads on this but i felt need to customize my own problem into one thread. please if any one can help me id greatly appriciate it ! thanks in advance guys!:icon_question:

So is the problem the hard 1-2 shift or is there a noise associated with the shift?
A shift kit can cause hard fast shifts from 1-2, this is not a bad thing, just need to get used to it. |
I agree that it might be a shift kit that is affecting things, but it could also be an improperly adjusted TV cable. Run a google search for "TV Cable Adjustment" and you should find the procedure for adjusting it properly. Run through that and let us know how it feels.

Or you could read this:
