Default Help

so i picked up my k5 today its a 350 bored 30 over with a cam unknown type, and what looks to be the stock carburetor and intake. auto trans

my question is if i get more than about half throttle it bogs out, its running rich can smell gas. where should i start looking?

other problem is when i first took it out it seemed to shift fine, got to a stop sign pulled it into 1st then shifted to second then when i went to put it back in OD it just acted like i put it in neutral, now when i start in OD it shift nice 1-2 then it trys 3rd and it just reves like it in nuetral? fluid is full dirty but full.

From the sounds of it, your 3-4 clutch pack is burnt out. Kind of typical for the early 700R4.

kind of what i was thinking......think this could be caused by the rear end, dont know if they changed the gears and the glove box sticker i believe said it had 3.06 gears the sticker was kind of faded sound like a strange gear ratio

Probably 3.08's. It's possible if you have larger tires. But the early 700R4's were not known for reliability when it came to the 3-4 clutch pack.
