help on carb

can anyone please tell me how you adjust yer carb ??????

That is highly dependent on what carb is on there...

its a holley remanufacture quadrajet

The mixture screws may or may not be accessible on that carb. if it is a holley remanufactured carb, they likely are. They are located on the front of the carb in the base plate. Initial setting is 1.5 turns from all the way in. Other than that, the idle speed screw is located just above the primary throttle shaft on the driver side of the carb. It has a spring behind it and can be seen in the picture you attached.

That's a bout it for adjustments besides tearing things down.

What is it doing that you want to adjust?

when i start it it idles really high then when i drop it into gear it bogs down and when im backing up or going slow itll die completly its sputters out and dies at stop lights when takleing off now its started to die more often it really sucks because i want it to be more reliable ..i dont know if its the carb or my timeing becase i took out the distributor when i changed my heads and i didnt move it but when i went to put it back in i had trouble ii tried timeing it but i dont know if its right or not i need some help would that be the carb that makes it run like ****?
