I have a 77 K5, th350 with broke down np203. I am in the process of scouting out another 203. Does anyone have any suggestions about the questions i need to ask when buying one? I know to make sure spline counts match...but i don't know what to look for orwhat to ask regarding the condition of the transfer case...

What is wrong with your 203? What is it doing? If it is busted up, why not rebuild it?

If you just want something to swap in, then you should just verify that the input spline count is the same and that it has the same size yokes front and back. Then just run it through the gears and make sure that everything is working properly.
