Intermittent Spark

Intermittent Spark
I have an 84 k5 w/350. I am having a problem with intermittent spark when starting my truck. Some days it will start every time, and some days it will not have any spark coming out of the distributor. The distributor and all components inside it are brand new. One weird thing that happens, is that as i turn the key back to the off position (when it doesn't start) it sends spark to the engine... just for a second. I have been told that it could be multiple components within my distributor, but I am to believe that there is more to it since all items are new. Any and all suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

does it ever die on your have any issues while driving? wonder if it could some kinda ignition issue. if it was me i would by pass all ignition components and run a straight 12 volt to the distributor. then if it starts and runs fine its no the distributor.
only downside to that is youre not gonna be able to shut the truck off unless you disconnect that wire

It never dies...and runs really good when does start. I was wondering if it had something to do with the ignition as well, since it sends that jolt of electricity when i turn off the key. I did check to see if there is power at the distributor, and there was (11.96v or so). Thanks for your imput abig84.
