Default K18???

Ok, I just picked up a 1983 full size blazer. The title designates it as a K18. It originally had a 305 (since replaced with a 350) and a manual tranny. Anyone ever heard of a K18? I've googled it and the only thing I get is a guy with an '85 asking the same question.

K18 is part of your VIN.
K = 4wd Line Designation & Chassis Type.
1 = 1/2 Ton Series.
8 = Utility (Blazer/Jimmy) Body Style.
Your VIN likely something like 1G8EK18H*DF******.

Ok. Makes sense. Now I'm wondering why all the car parts places (including 4x4 parts) have no clue what it means, when they know what a K10/C10 is.
