K5 Blazer door rebuild
New member looking for advice. I’m assisting a friend with his 74 K5 and really question how I got myself in so deep. The Blazer came with two different doors, one from a 74 and one that appears to be cut down to accommodate the full convertible top. Internal door hardware was mostly missing so we went shopping at LMC. The vent window seals were shot and one vent window was broken. I’ve managed to fabricate the rear window channel from newer replacement components using one of the trashed guides as an example. There were no regulators so he bought the power window kit (which required a complicated adapter for the cut door in order to mount it). My big question is how the window stays in the forward track while moving up and down ? I’ve seen other windows move and the window justifies itself to the front which keeps it in track. The setup in these doors allow the window to free float between the channels and it’s only by dumb luck IF the window occasionally finds the track. Any advice/comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
