MAJOR Problem - Oil Sending Unit

So i got a clean/newer looking oil sending unit as mine was not working correctly. When I was trying to get mine off of that 45 degree thing that it attaches to it broke off. NO way I can start the car now.

Need advice on what to do. The angle is a major bitch to get to, I'm worried I'll have to have someone pull the engine out just to get to that hole to drill/tap it. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....

One option might be put a screw in the hole just so the car can run?

So, I was able to get a better look after getting the distributer out of the way and it looks like I'm going to bike (pedal power) an hour away to pick up an ez-out tool to see if I can back it out. Tried sticking in a screw and the oil still shoots out, bad idea anyways.

Part of the problem is I'm not home so this sucks

I had the exact same thing happen to me and I was able to get the piece out of the block with a small easy out, a 1/4 drive socket that fit the end of the easy out and a 1/4 extension and a 1/4 inch drive ratchet. The broken piece came out very easy. Then I went to my local U-Pull it junkyard and pulled a replacement adapter. Below is my original write up. Good Luck and hope you can remove the broken piece as easy as it was for me. At least you know that your not the first one this happened to.

If you need to tap out the block I believe it is a 1/8 NPT. (National Pipe Thread)

Hey thanks... Got it out, only took 3 hours and 4 minutes. 3 hours for the bike ride to the store to get ez-out and back!

Glad to hear you got it out. Breaking something off in your engine is definitely an oh sh*t moment. Been there, done that.

Now if you wanted to temporarly plug the hole a 1/8 inch pipe plug would do the trick. Glad you got it out. I went for a 2 hour bike ride today. But it was just for fitness a little over 35 miles.
