Broke Oil Sending Unit Engine Adapter
I sheared of the engine adapter while replacing my Oil Sending Unit. My first reaction was Oh @#$%!, and my second thought was that I was going to have to remove the engine to remove the broke piece from the engine block. But before I did anything else I got out my set of easy outs and found the correct size, put a small socket on the end and a long extension and 1/4 drive ratchet to try and remove the broken piece. I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw the broken piece threading out of the block while I was turning the easy out with the ratchet. Once it was removed it was off to the junkyard for a replacement engine adapter, which I did find one. From there, it was install the adapter and the sending unit and I was back in business. In the past my success with using easy outs has been somewhat shaky. I was really happy that in this case the easy out worked like a champ.
