new coil now engine misfiring and no power

Son has 90 K5 blazer. He was driving it week ago, engine sputtered and just died, He said it turned over starter working but would not start. we know the coil was in need of replacement. Dad had it towed to shop and they replaced coil and starter? dont know why starter but they did. Dad then had stereo shop disconnect remote starter. Immediatley after now the truck is barely running, rough idle, like missfire, no power, dies out and I have checked everything, coil , coil wires with volt meter, it is getting fuel, there was a leak in line to fuel filter, fixed. Recently replaced egr vac syl , re checked not the problem, control module changed , not the problem. The heater core went on it about 3 weeks ago and have not yet replaced bypassing it. rotor and cap are new, new spark plugs as well as fuel filter. No vac leaks as far as I can tell. Anyone have any ideas. I am at a loss here??? I know jeeps not chevys Help

I have a question for anyone out there, I have read on these forums a lot about a coolant temp sensor causing similar problems? There is still a somewhat strong fuel smell from exhaust. Like perhaps running too rich? Where is this thing at and how would I go about changing this or at least unplugging it to check to see if running. When the hearer core went, the temp shot up suddenly and wondering if that could have done something to this thing? Anyone??? Any advice???

Could be. Happened to a 91 at my job. It just kinda ran crappy. But its like right on top of the engine at the front. Its only like a $5 part. I don't know how you can really test it. We plugged it into the computer and when the truck was at operating temp it was telling the computer it was still cold so it was dumping more fuel

I'll give that a try. Thanks again.

Do you have spark? I would suggest checking the wires on the pickup coil, especially since you recently did the cap and rotor. Those two wires are VERY thin and if original they are probably very brittle.
